School on Higher dimensional varieties

Description

The 4 lecture series of the School will focus on modern techniques in the classification theory of higher dimensional algebraic varieties, highlighting connections to K-stability and singularity theory.

Lecturers:
Jefferson Baudin: Introduction to minimal models and their singularities
Zsolt Patakfalvi: Singularities in positive and mixed characteristic
Javier Fernandez de Bobadilla: Degenerations and hybrid geometry
János Kollár: Families of varieties of general type

REGISTRATION:

Registration is open. Graduate students (Msc and PhD), postdocs, and early career researchers, especially  qualified female researchers and researchers from underrepresented groups  are encouraged to apply. 

Application deadline is February 15, 2026. As space is limited, applicants will be informed by March 15, 2026 about the decision of the Organizing Committee  who can participate. Accepted applicants are offered free accommodation for the duration of the School.
